LNG Dump Truck of CIMC Becomes “Powerful Tool” for National Energy Saving and Emission Reduction
A few days ago, during the main session of World Environment Day 2019 in Hangzhou, China, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of China released the “China Air Quality Improvement Report (2013-2018)” (hereinafter referred to as the “Report”). This report shows that the average density of PM2.5 in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta areas decreased by 48%, 39% and 32% respectively compared with that of 2013, and the total emission of major air pollutants have been significantly reduced.
“We are very happy to see LNG intelligent dump trucks have made such a significant achievement in energy conservation and emission reduction. This shows that the efforts made by CIMC and other enterprises for national energy conservation and emission reduction have achieved remarkable results.” Principal of C&C Trucks Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “C&C Trucks”) said. C&C Trucks is a holding company under China International Marine Containers (Group) Co., Ltd. (CIMC).
According to introduction, in recent years, C&C Trucks has successively delivered more than 2,000 LNG dump trucks to air pollution worst-hit areas such as Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region, Shandong, Hebei and Henan. Compared with diesel vehicles, these over 2,000 LNG dump trucks can reduce the total emission of air pollutants such as hydrocarbons, nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide and the like by nearly 3,000 tons in one year, reducing environmental pollution and conforming to the national energy conservation and emission reduction policy.
It is learnt that all the dump trucks delivered by C&C Trucks nationwide are city intelligent dump trucks mainly fueled by liquefied natural gas. Their fuel operating costs can be reduced by 25%-35% compared with diesel vehicles. Thus, these dump trucks have high cost performance. In addition, compared with traditional diesel dump trucks, LNG dump trucks’ carbon monoxide emission can be reduced by 90%. After fuel combustion, LNG dump trunks rarely generate hydrocarbon and nitrogen oxides. No particulate emissions and zero emission of PM2.5 are realized.
“Exhaust emissions from motor vehicles are one of the major sources of air pollution in China, while heavy-duty trucks like traditional oil-fueled dump trucks are the major contributors to air pollution from motor vehicles. In the next few years, C&C Trucks will continue to make more efforts in scientific and technological innovation, focus on the research and development of various types of vehicles powered by clean energy, actively carry out in-depth cooperation with the above-mentioned government departments in the air pollution worst-hit areas, gradually help the government to improve the transportation structure and comprehensively help the country win the battle against pollution.” The Principal said.
